Aesthetically Pleasing
Kudos to Azealia Banks for not doing another typical “Harlem Shake” video, spazzing out when the beat drops. She turned this viral song into a dope anthem and looked absolutely AMAZING doing it. I think from now on whenever I hear “Whip My Hair” I’ll be thinking of Azealia and her 30 inch weave instead of Willow Smith!
Despite the drama between her and the songs original creator Baauer and producer Diplo regarding the release of the song, I’m glad she went ahead and shared it,
It’s not her best lyrically, but it’s fun, it’s fresh, and it’s tough. Azealia did the damn thing.

Guys, I just discovered the coolest website ever (I use the word discovered loosely, in a Christopher-Columbus-people-already-know sort of way). Tune Glue is a music mapping site, just type in an artist who you like and see the artists that are similar to them, and artists similar to them, and the artists similar to them, until you have a web of artists you may or may not have heard of who have a similar sound to the initial artist you searched. It’s a great way to discover new music!

OMG… I just discovered The Skins!! Sooooo many things I love about them from the get go; diverse band, female bass player, and POWERHOUSE vocals..I was expecting some breathy little indie-band voice then that came out and blew me back about 10 steps! I might be late discovering them, but I am about to stalk their lives and find every song they have ever recorded lol.

Santigold is back with a hot new song and video! The song is Disparate Youth. I really like this song. I was disappointed when I heard her previous single “Big Mouth” last month. It’s kind of lame, But she definitely made up for it with this track!
I feel like she really toned down her look too.. She used to be kind of on MIAs game with the crazy colors and patterns and jewelry. And she had that cute short bob haircut. I just think she looks a little basic now :/

The Transcendentalist in me LOVES this video! Its the Music video for Towers by Bon Iver. The filmography is great, the subtle but meaningful storyline, and the way the music fits soooo perfectly with the visuals. This one’s a win!

I had to rock the @PhonyPpl shirt today, the concert at 930 Club w/ @Theophilus London was soooo live! Paco and I had so much fun, we got to meet Sheriff PJ and Elbee Three and I even got some love from the man Theophilus.
Theophilus London’s new songs were sickkk, I’m impatiently waiting for the next project to drop-which he said will be this spring.
This will NOT be the last time we see Phony Ppl, after a show like that we’re already planning to get out to another one lol.
If you’ve been sleepin on Phony Ppl or Theophilus London you need to wake up and get hip!

Here’s Break It Off one of my favorites off their latest album Phonyland.
Lianne La Havas just released a music video for her single Forget. I have to say, I like the live version of the song better, the one on the EP. It sounds so much better with the acoustic guitar and the echo of her voice- it really keeps the meaning. But this one is still funky and up beat and I really like the clothes and the aesthetics of the video.
She is probably one of my favorite new artists.
