TORO Y MOI x So Many Details

After reading Anna Son’s last post on Toro y Moi I felt it appropriate to make another post on this cutie. From his funky beats to his sweet, melodic voice Chaz Bundick should definitely be on your music playlist. Can you agree that the video is so fresh? I think so.

TORO Y MOI x Say That

Chaz Bundick released a video for the second single off his up-coming album Anything in Return. I Loveeeee how funky and off-beat his videos are, he never fails to impress me! I’m loving the vibes to this song, can’t wait to hear the whole album when it drops January 22nd!!

Toro y Moi debuted a new song at Lollapalooza earlier this month. It’s called Rose Quartz and its pretty awesome.

Santigold is back with a hot new song and video! The song is Disparate Youth. I really like this song. I was disappointed when I heard her previous single “Big Mouth” last month. It’s kind of lame, But she definitely made up for it with this track!

I feel like she really toned down her look too..  She used to be kind of on MIAs game with the crazy colors and patterns and jewelry. And she had that cute short bob haircut. I just think she looks a little basic now :/

Any other Santigold fans agree??

The Transcendentalist in me LOVES this video! Its the Music video for Towers by Bon Iver. The filmography is great, the subtle but meaningful storyline, and the way the music fits soooo perfectly with the visuals. This one’s a win!

Home - Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros

This is one of the 400+ songs I’ve downloaded from friends in the past two days. This came out in 2009, so I’m a little late lol but it’s a great song nonetheless. It’s on the album Up From Below which is a reallyyy good project all together.

New Fav!

Great remix of Theophilus London’s I Stand Alone by Ocelot! This is seriously pretty awesome. May enjoy this more than the original, but then again it depends what type of music mode I’m in.

Foster the People- Pumped Up Kicks

One of those songs that reminds me of summer , and now that summer is over here’s my tribute.

Phil Ade is one of my favorite new rappers…not just because hes from the DMV, but because I think he has some talent. His mixtape A Different World drops today and I’ve been searching the internet since 11:59 this morning (yeah, I’m pressed) and I still can’t find it :/

I’m In love with the two singles I’ve heard from it so far. This track, “2nd Chance” caught my eye because I’m a big Peter, Bjorn, and John fan (where the song came from). The other single is called “Monte Carlo Dreams” and samples the song “Monte Carlo” by a local DC band called US Royalty (I saw them live at the Sweetlife Festival and fell in loooovveee).

I don’t like these tracks just because he sampled these artist, but because he does such a good job sampling them. Plenty of rappers sample indie bands and it sounds weak, or like they’re trying too hard to follow that trend. Phil Ade puts his own twist on it and his flow fits the music perfectly.

…and he reps the D M V :)

Theophilus London Releases New Single “I Stand Alone”

This is the first single off of his upcoming album Timez Are Weird These Days which will be out on July 19th

It has an electronic and techno feel to it, apparently he was inspired by an intense French movie of the same title. It must have been an amazing movie, because the song is incredible.
